A wonderful 3rd album by the ex-human leaguers. While it may not be as overtly political, consistent, or as focused as their masterpiece, Penthouse & Pavement, the theme of nuclear oblivion has carried over to the first song, "Five Minutes to Midnight". The bomb has been made and it's ready to launch/5(19).

Feb 23,  · Heaven 17’s third album, as with the previous The Luxury Gap, has touches of funk and jazz through the electronics, with strong doses of The Phenix Horns, accompanied by the bluesy vocals of the female trio Afrodiziak (who would soon be doing some work with Howard Jones). The first three songs, "Five Minutes To Midnight", “Sunset Now” and “This Is Mine” start things in fine, catchy /5(12).

It all came together for Heaven 17 on this album, and as a result it is by far their strongest, most brilliant album. Combining their various influences (including R&B, pop, dance, electronica), Heaven 17 fused these styles together to create an almost perfect sound. There is simply not a weak track on the album.9/

Third album “How Men Are” was released in October , and was preceded by the Top 25 hits “Sunset Now” and “This Is Mine”. Further single release “ (And That’s No Lie)” helped the album attain Silver sales. It remains Martyn Ware’s favourite album in their catalogue.
